Successful Promotions Usually require knowing
the answers to these questions...
1. What Is Your Marketing Objective?
Obviously you want to brand yourself,
deliver a message, or give an incentive.
Here are the top
9 uses of Promotional Products...
1. Build Brand, Promote Goodwill, or Further Company Image
2. Reinforce marketing of existing products, services, or facilities
3. Recognize employee performance, or stimulate better performance.
4. Generate more sales leads, or sell the promotional logo product
itself.
5. Promote trade show traffic, and keep you remembered after the
show.
6. Introduce new products, services, websites, stores, or facilities
7. Reward, Thank, & Recognize good customers, and build customer
loyalty
8. Celebrations, gifts to party guests, or gifts celebrate an
anniversary
9. Incentives for better sales performance
2. Who Do You Want To Influence?
Is your target audience on average an
age group, an organization, a certain salary range, a certain
sex, etc. Who are most of the people you will be giving
the product to?
3. What Item Will Grab & Continue To Keep Their Attention?
You most likely already knew the answers
to above, this
question is the most critical. My best advice to clients is to
stay away from cheap quality items, the last thing you want is
to find your item in the garbage, the drawer, or out of site.
I always advise to pick an item that is...
3-1.
Excellent Quality, the customer would not throw it away
Cheap pens, low quality plastic items,
think of all these items you have had in your hands over the years,
where are they now?
3-2.
An Item that will be used often, hopefully everyday
Calendars, Letter Openers, Nice Pen
Sets, Desk Items, Coffee Mugs, Travel Cups, Mouse pads, Organizers,
& Apparel are some of the things in my life that I use everyday.
Think about your audience who are they and what do they use? Ask
yourself, will they use it often or see your logo often, and what
are the chances it will end up not used or throw away? Also consider
that some folks are numb to advertising on certain items, my best
example is cheap pens. It seems there are so many of these out
there, that they are simply ineffective any more. The idea is
right, give a customer an item they can use and they will be grateful.
After everyone does it, it becomes normal and it is taken for
granted. Think of what your customers use that they might be grateful
to receive from you. It shows you care about them, and that is
what they really want.
3-3.
Original and Creative
It is harder to do, but with our 975,000 item database we have
the choices to make it easier for you. You can still have everyday
items be original and creative with our excellent color choices,
and with the logo design you place on the item make it stand out.
Our graphic artist can rework your logo to suit this purpose,
you can simply choose from the thousands of different products
and color choices in a product category.
A good example...
One of our good clients sells whitewater rafts, they wanted to
offer clients some travel mugs, we identified their customers
needs and found some insulated stainless steel travel mugs with
a carabiner clip for the handle and a spill proof seal tight lid.
They reported huge success, the clients are grateful and proud
to show their cups. You find them in the office , the car, and
out on the river. The rafting buffs won't be separated from the
cups. It proved to be an excellent marketing opportunity for the
company, and is now one of their best selling items!! They could
have given them regular mugs, instead they used our huge online
catalog and found an original version of an everyday item that
their customers simply appreciate and use every single day!!
